      Picture submission

Posted on September 23, 2007 16:20 by hbruun

Do you have a digital picture that was taken at Miss Emily's Blue Bee bar (must be obvious that it was taken there) and would like to have it included in the film strip images at the top of the page?  Then use the 'Contact' page link and send me your email address and I'll respond with the email address to submit the picture to.  Sorry about the extra step (done to avoid getting too much spam).

Everyone is also welcome to submit articles about Blue Bee using the 'Contact' form.

I was speaking with Miss Violet in December 2007 about the ORIGINAL Blue Bee Bar sign, which consisted of red lettering on a white-painted plywood board. In 1969 or 1970, one of Miss Emily's customers, Captain Jack Gray, took that sign away and had a much more lavish sign made up (at a professional sign-painter's shop?) and presented to the establishment. The original Blue Bee sign is still in existence, AFAIK, in Canada.
